Kitchen Transformation

It’s always great to see pictures of customer’s beautiful new floors and kitchens – even better when they send in before and after pictures, so we can see the dramatic transformations. I had one such customer recently. She had ordered a kitchen from our sister company deVOL, then came to us for advice on the best flooring to complement her new kitchen.

The customer had chosen a shaker kitchen in mushroom, with white corian surfaces, and wanted a more rustic looking stone, with a tumbled edge, to set off her shaker kitchen. After considering a few options, she plumped for the Dijon Tumbled Limestone.

The Dijon is a predominantly taupe tile, with mink and grey tones running through it, thanks to the interesting mineral and fossil detail within the tiles. It adds character to the room without being overwhelming, as some tiles have lots of detail, whereas others are plainer. Every time you look at the floor you will spot a new fossil or marking that you hadn’t noticed before – the joy of natural stone! The Dijon Tumbled Limestone sets off the mushroom colour of the units perfectly, and is neutral enough that it works with the kitchen, rather than competing with it for attention.

The results were amazing. What was once a cluttered kitchen with lots of orangey tones has now been transformed into a calming oasis to enjoy cooking in. The kitchen has a beautiful, light, airy feeling and looks like it will be perfect for entertaining.
