The Hampton Court Kitchen

20th April 2015

The photos are back from our latest photoshoot, and we could not be happier with them!

Tim (our resident photographer) and Helen (deVOL’s creative director) took a trip down to Richmond upon Thames earlier in the week, to take some shots of this beautiful Shaker Kitchen laid with our Umbrian Limestone throughout.

As ever, we eagerly gathered around the computer to ooh and ahh over the stunning images on our screen. This particular kitchen had been a long time in the planning with every tiny detail considered and thought through. The end result, as I’m sure you’ll agree, is a kitchen that looks warm and inviting, but at the same time light and airy.

The large island sat squarely in the middle of the room is perfect for an enthusiastic cook, and can easily fit several children around for those holiday baking sessions! The warm rustic oak worktop reflects the copper tones in the pendant light perfectly, bringing a sense of unity to the middle of the room.

And of course we need to mention the beautiful flagstone floor! These are our Umbrian Limestone tiles, a firm favourite amongst staff and customers alike. The grey tones are softened by the sage green and mellow yellow shades throughout with the warm red/brown hues stopping the tiles looking cold.

These flagstone tiles perfectly complement the bespoke grey/blue kitchen units and bring a wonderfully rustic quality to the kitchen. We especially love the black AGA sitting upon them, which gives the feeling of a country farmhouse kitchen.

Although the units and flagstones are quite dark and grey, the room is saved from looking oppressive by that wonderful big sky light, large French doors and window over the sink. The light Carrara Marble worktops and off-white walls also bring a freshness to the room. We can’t imagine a more lovely kitchen to cook in.
