Carrara Marble

28th July 2016

By Kathryn Collins

The Carrara Marble style is so on trend right now, I’m seeing it everywhere! I wanted to share with you some great interior designs but also some more unusual uses for this beautiful stone.

The image above is taken from our sister company deVOL kitchens, it is one of their more unique kitchens but wow, what a statement? A crazy mix of beautiful bespoke cupboards, dramatic marble and collections of stunning art and pottery, this atmospheric kitchen is making a stir with customers and the media alike.

A more subtle use of marble style worktops and upstands works perfectly alongside the natural timbers and brass taps of this stylish Sebastian Cox kitchen. This kitchen has been installed in the basement of deVOL’s Clerkenwell showroom alongside Floors of Stone’s very own parquet flooring.

The above image shows Carrara used to create a stunning feature wall in a bathroom, giving the room a real sense of luxury. A similar look can be created using our Stucco Clay and Calacatta Porcelain tiles.

Now for some more unusual uses for the marble, from lamp shades, watches, phone cases, head phones to cheese boards, everyone is loving this style!

There are also so many substitutes to the real deal on the market now, both stone alternatives and porcelain products, which give the same or similar effect, making it suitable for most projects. Floors of Stone offer the real deal, Carrara Marble in honed and polished varieties, we also offer alternatives such as Bianco White Polished Marble and various porcelain reproductions.
