Planks & Parquet by Floors of Stone

You may have heard whispers on social media over the past few weeks that we’ve been working hard on a new project. If you’ve been into our showroom recently or had a chat with a member of our team you may even have been let in on our secret!
Well the time has finally come to announce our exciting news! We’ve introduced a brand new range of wood flooring – Planks & Parquet by Floors of Stone.
We’ve been selling an unfinished parquet for a little while now, which had proved to be popular, but as the blocks had to be finished in situ, it meant less control over how the final floor looked. We wanted something a little more special for our discerning customers, and there was a high demand for a wood floor that would be suitable for use over underfloor heating. Customers of our sister company, deVOL Kitchens, were also desperate for high quality wood flooring that would complement the beautiful painted tones of their kitchens.
So we set to work choosing and designing our range, which we hope has something to suit every project!
For those looking for a traditional oak floor, our Burlington Oak Planks or Chatsworth Oak Parquet would be good options. The golden shades of honey and bronze bring warmth to a room and would sit well with most interiors.
The Scandi look is a trend that is definitely here to stay and so many of our customers are trying to achieve that pared-back, muted look. We’ve specifically chosen our Prestwold Oak Parquet and Ascot Oak Planks for this reason, we love their light, natural tones and simplicity. They look great against the Mushroom, Lead and Putty colours from deVOL.
For those looking for something a little more daring, the dramatic burned finish of our Blackden Oak Planks would be perfect, or the intricate tones of the Belgrave Oak Parquet would look amazing if you are brave enough to go for a dark blue or black kitchen as well.
If you’ve visited our showroom here at Cotes Mill and fallen in love with the original pine floorboards in the mill house, then we’ve tried to recreate this in our Woburn Oak. We’ve also replicated the original floorboards in deVOL’s new Clerkenwell showroom, the aptly named St John’s Oak.
In total we’ve introduced six new parquets and twelve new planks, three of which also come in an elegant chevron as well. To be honest with you, I can’t choose a favourite!!
All of the Parquets come semi-finished, so all that is needed is two topcoats of oil upon installation, to ensure any cut edges are sealed and to give the wood a hardwearing top layer.
Our planks are all engineered boards, made up of three layers of solid oak (no cheap plywood layer!) so you are getting what you pay for – a solid oak floor, but one that can be used with underfloor heating. The planks all come fully finished, so are ready to be walked on from the day they are installed.
All of our Oak is sourced from Europe (mainly France) from sustainable forests and is manufactured in the UK. Everything is produced to order, so there will be a three week lead time.
