I have a house full of swatches and paint charts and a Pinterest board full of inspiring images and rooms.

I can be forgiven for this, we are currently in the middle of renovating our kitchen and hallway. We moved into our house last year, and have so far decorated the lounge and dining room with no arguments. We’ve even narrowed the colour of our hallway down to a light blue, we just need to choose the exact shade.

The kitchen, on the other hand, is becoming a bit of a battleground. I love soft blues, greys, greens but my husband wants (in his words) a bit of colour (he much prefers reds and yellows). This has led to a standoff. Neither of us will budge! That was until I saw that Farrow and Ball had introduce nine new colours – our problems might be solved!

Their gorgeous new colours include soft neutrals, gentle pastels and wonderfully vibrant accents to add a bit of fun. Their quirky way of displaying their new colours had me hooked immediately!

I think my favourite has to be Peignor. The soft pinky grey tones have such a romantic feel, a beautiful muted pink that isn’t too sickly. It also puts me in mind of the pink silk used by the Pink Pantaloon Company, which are made here at Cotes Mill.

I already loved Mizzle and Pigeon (these were my preferred choices for the kitchen) so when I saw Cromarty I got very excited. It’s such a soothing, gentle tone I think this would create the perfect environment to cook and wind down after a day at work. As Farrow and Ball say, it is neither too blue nor too grey.

The last one I’ll mention is the Inchyra Blue. I love a dark, moody colour and this one fits the bill perfectly. Inspired by a Georgian House in Scotland, it needed to stand up to the tumultuous Scottish skies. It looks great against the vibrant greens and inky blues in this picture – maybe this will be the winner.

There are six more new colours, each as beautiful as the last. Actually thinking about it, this may have thrown another spanner in the works – we’re never going to be able to narrow it down to just one colour!

All images found on Farrow and Ball: http://www.farrow-ball.com/

<div class="fb-like" data-href="https://www.floorsofstone.com/blog/nine-new-colours/" data-layout="button_count" data-action="like"data-show-faces="false" data-share="true">

I’ve become a tad obsessed with paint colours at the moment.
