Especially at this time of year, the grounds are bursting with life; flowers and trees are blooming (although maybe not so good for those of us with hay fever!) and the pitter patter of tiny feet can be heard all over the place!<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to introduce you to our latest additions to our Cotes Mill family.<\/p>\n<p>First up, we had this adorable brood of ducklings \u2013 so sweet when you see them waddling around the grounds after their mum and swimming on the mill pond.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"sharer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.floorsofstone.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Ducklings-DSC_5676.jpg\"><ul id=\"socialshare\"><!--<li class=\"fb\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dialog\/share?app_id=688330137993706&display=popup&href=https:\/\/www.floorsofstone.com\/blog\/the-latest-from-the-mill\/?img=https:\/\/www.floorsofstone.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Ducklings-DSC_5676.jpg\"><\/a><\/li><li class=\"tw\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https:\/\/www.floorsofstone.com\/blog\/the-latest-from-the-mill\/&text=The Latest from the Mill\"><\/a><li>--><li class=\"pt\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/pin\/create\/button?&url=https:\/\/www.floorsofstone.com\/blog\/the-latest-from-the-mill\/&media=https:\/\/www.floorsofstone.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Ducklings-DSC_5676.jpg\"><\/a><li><\/ul><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Then we got very excited at our first ever Guinea Fowl chicks (keets) to be born here at the mill. They were hatched by our grounds keepers in the incubator, as the Guniea Fowl seemed to lay their eggs and forget about them (they don\u2019t seem to be the brightest of creatures!) We\u2019ve watched these swans every year since we move to the mill successfully bring up their babies to adulthood. They take themselves away to a quiet space in the grounds for a few weeks, then come back looking very proud of themselves and with several cygnets.
