All Things Flooring!

30th June 2016

By Charlie McEnery

It wasn’t until I started working here at Floors of Stone that I started to notice…..All things flooring!

I spend my days running, walking, working and playing on all different kinds of flooring, yet it’s something that for a very long time I haven’t really paid much attention to.

Now that I work with flooring I catch myself looking down at my feet and admiring the floor beneath me much more often. I’m then trying to work out what type of material it’s made from and the pattern that it’s been laid in, my friends must be thinking that I’m becoming a bit of a floor geek!

Recently I’ve been looking at various flooring on Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration and I stumbled across an account called “I Have This Thing With Floors”, they have some really cool and interesting photos of when ‘feet meet floors’. Their idea is very simple yet so original. Here is the link for their Instagram account if you fancy a look (if you are also a fan of shoes, then I think it’s definitely worth a look!) https://www.instagram.com/ihavethisthingwithfloors/

We have a great range of flooring here at Floors of Stone, from natural limestone, travertine, slate, marble, porcelain tiles and now we’ve even branched out to parquet flooring!  I just wanted to share with you my top three tiles that we sell here at Cotes Mill…

The Dove Grey Limestone – This is my number one at the moment.

I definitely have a thing for grey, I seem to be leaning more towards the grey and silver tones. This has to be why I like the Dove Grey Limestone so much. The Dove Grey Tumbled Limestone has a lovely aged and rustic finish to the stone and our customers can’t seem to get enough of this stone too! We only introduced it to our range at the beginning of 2016, and this photograph is from our very first customer for the Dove Grey – we think it looks great!

Silver Tumbled Travertine.

The Silver Tumbled Travertine has a natural tumbled and rustic finish, yet the silver tones can also give it a very contemporary appearance, as you can see in the photo below. The tan tones throughout give the stone a lovely warmth. This photo was sent in by one of our very happy customers, we are delighted with the way their project has come together.

Worn Ivory Sandstone.

This is creamy sandstone which is consistently pale in colour, with gentle olive undertones. It’s lightly pitted and riven on the surface which is all natural and gives the sandstone a lovely texture. I love this natural stone as it can add a very light and airy feel to the room, and really gives a room a friendly and homely look.
