Brazilian Black Slate

Brazilian black slate is a lovely material that looks great in any domestic setting. It is often favoured for bathrooms due to the fact it can be easily considered for use on the floor and wall due to it’s calibrated nature (all the tiles are the same thickness).

Below is a photo of a customer who has done just that, and I think the tonality of the slate adds a real sense of class to this space:

Brazilian black slate is also a wonderfully versatile product and it compliments a range of colours and textures due to it’s fairly consistent nature. It is lightly riven finish so has a nice bit of grain and texture underfoot, without having too many varying layers.

Below is a customer who has used bigger format tiles to accompany their wooden cladding- a combination that I think works well:

So if you are thinking about slate flooring, there are options that mean you don’t have to be worried about the uncalibrated nature slate can sometimes have.
