Fire!

Here at Floor of Stone Ltd we have the joys of having an ESSE Fire Stove in a number of our showrooms. These are great in the winter as once lit, they can give off a tremendous amount of heat and they are amazing to gaze into. The Fire stoves can be bought through our sister company deVOL Kitchens along with a number of other fantastic Antiques and items of furniture.  Below is our showroom with one of the fire stoves in. The jet black colour of the Fire Stove looks striking when next to our Light White walls and our Light Jerusalem Limestone Floor.

It is lit in the morning so when you arrive at work you are met by the smell of a wood burning fire. We use it to heat our showrooms during the winter and now that we are experiencing some colder times I think, it will be on for a lot longer.  We have a number of customers who ask about our Natural Stone floors and which ones are suitable for a fire Hearth.  We tend to find that our Slate floor tiles and Natural Limestone tiles are the favoured choice as these tiles come in larger formats. We have used our Worn Grey Limestone in the cellar at Cotes Mill and you can see that a tile has been elevated for the Fire Stove to sit on.

We sell Natural Quarry Tiles which are mainly used as fire hearths and below we can see the use of our Pinot Quarry tiles being used along with our Black Quarry tiles. The Quarry tiles come with straight edges, single round edges and double round edges so you can create a finished look using these tiles.

Our Black Slate is another popular choice with customers as the calibrated Slates can give the fireplace a contemporary feel. The nice thing about our Slate tiles is that some of them come in a 600×900 tile which is a good size for a fire hearth.  Below is an example where a customer has used our tiles as fire hearth.
