Springtime at Cotes Mill

13th April 2015

Floors of Stone is lucky to be situated in the picturesque 16th century Cotes Mill, a rustic treasure in the heart of Leicestershire that is situated on the majestic river Soar.

The quintessentially British village of Cotes dates back to the Domesday Book. It is the perfect backdrop to the rustic beauty of our Cotes Mill Showroom, where you can find a cornucopia of various different natural stone tiles such as elegant marbles and luxurious limestones.

As well as being the home of Floors of Stone the mill also houses deVOL kitchens, a company based on creating kitchens designed and created in Britain, an ethos that has seen deVOL become a prominent player in home design.

With such a beautiful pastoral setting it is inevitable that now spring has arrived the whole mill has come to life!

Originally used to power the mills waterwheel, the pond is seeing an abundance of external wildlife joining our already large menagerie of resident guinea-fowl, hens, peacocks (and hens) and doves.

With numerous peacocks and peahens the mill is an idyllic setting for customers to view the natural beauty of the mill as well as perusing the vast internal and external displays of natural stone tiles.

Our guinea fowl have really taken to our new external paver range, they can predominantly be seen foraging alongside our newly laid Cotes Blend Pavers. These Pavers have been picked by our managing director due to the amazing colours, dramatic textures and fantastic price.

Due to the arrival of spring we have been seeing even more people than normal coming to view the beauty of the mill, at the same time exploring our four floors of kitchen and tile displays as well as handmade crafts and an eclectic array of antiques.

With such breath-taking springtime scenes and so many beautiful things to buy and view it is no wonder that the mill is a place customers are visiting time and time again.
