THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER – STUDIO TOUR

28th February 2018

My muggle girlfriend and I had a great time on the Harry Potter tour, its fantastic way to spend a few hours. If you are a fan of the films or books, I highly recommend it.

Without giving away too many spoilers, part of the tour takes you through the Great Hall at Hogwarts. Of course in true Floors of Stone fashion, the first thing that really caught my eye was the flooring! Once you are involved in the magic of tiles it really is hard to escape! The flooring of the Great Hall is actually tiled in real Yorkstone. The producer and set designer before the first film agreed that due to the traffic the floor would be subjected too, the cost of installing proper Yorkstone was well worth it. I think you’ll agree the results are stunning, it really has stood the test of time.

I don’t want to ruin the tour for anyone who is considering going in the future, as I really enjoyed not knowing what was around each corner. There really is so much to see and do, you can fly a broomstick; take a wonder around the Forbidden Forest and sink a Butterbeer on Privet drive.

If you’ve been inspired and would like to recreate your own Hogwarts Hall, why not take a look at our Tudor Stone Sandstone? It’s an extremely hard wearing sandstone and is suitable for use internally and externally. These beautiful hand finished tiles feature unique textures and an extremely desirable effect.
