Tile Tips for the lead up to Christmas

The lead up to Christmas is one of the busiest times of year for most home improvement businesses. Everyone is rushing to complete their building and flooring projects in time for Christmas and the New Year. We know how stressful this can be so we have compiled some helpful tips to ensure that you are not disappointed when ordering your tiles.

  1. Be prepared – Tilers can be booked up months in advance so it is really important that you contact your preferred tiler well before you need your tiling completed. This also includes selecting your tiles in advance so that you are aware of lead times if they are not in stock. Usually our stock levels are quite high so that can allow for last minute orders where we can get tiles delivered to you within 1-3 working days!
  2. Allow for delays – most of us have watched Grand Designs and know how common, albeit frustrating, delays can be. Whether it’s the delayed delivery of the timber house frame from Holland or the 6x3m glass window that shatters on installation – delays can happen. This is why we advise ordering your tiles for delivery a week before tiling commences. This allows for any replacements to be sent out or for any issues with the order to be resolved before tiling commences.
  3. Ensure you have selected the right tile for you – We have a free sample request service on our website and over the phone so you are able to see your chosen product before delivery. We appreciate that a 10x10cm sample isn’t always enough for customers to select a tile for their project and this is why our showroom is so helpful. We have all of our tile and flooring options on display to help with your decision. We also have customer flooring photos of the majority of our tiles so, on request, we can email these photos to you to give an idea of how your chosen tile can look in situ.
  4. Reserve your tiles – Recently we have had a couple of our popular tiles go out of stock very quickly due to a rush of orders. And with Christmas approaching lead times for new stock arriving can be longer than usual. To avoid disappointment, we advise ordering your tiles and reserving the stock. We can hold orders for up to 4-6 weeks (and longer in some cases) so that means you can have peace of mind that your tiles are safe and sound in our warehouse ready for despatch and delivery on a working day that suits you.

Although these tips may seem obvious, we still find some customers leaving ordering to the last minute which leaves them very stressed. Although in most cases this isn’t an issue, in some cases where the tile is out of stock this can delay customer’s flooring projects. Our handy tips are just there to help ease the pressure of building and flooring projects. We hope you have a stress-free lead up to the festive period!
