Tumbled Edge Porcelain
15th May 2025
It’s quite often that customers get in touch with us who are trying to find a stone-effect porcelain that emulates a natural limestone, marble or sandstone tile; so I thought I would write about our selectively chosen range of stone-effect porcelains with aged and tumbled edges.
Our newest additions to the range are the Laverna Linen & Laverna Smoke Porcelains, which come in a large 600mm x 900mm size reminiscent of a natural flagstone. The tiles also feature distinct veining and distressed edges, adding to the illusion of a weathered and worn stone tile.
The linen has a delicate, pale tone with mottling throughout and a variety of patterns, giving it all the charm of natural stone with none of the upkeep or risk of staining – ideal for homes containing young families and pets.
Another tumbled-effect tile which has proven to be a very popular choice for customers is our Vitelli Classic Chequered Porcelain, which is a high-quality, Italian-made porcelain chequer comprised of Ivory and Charcoal-coloured porcelain tiles.
The Vitelli Porcelain tiles feature a realistic tumbled edge, helping to add a touch of grandeur to any hallway or bathroom floor. The Classic Chequer, as well as the Vitelli Light Chequer, are available in a 200mm x 200mm size, helping it to fit into both large and small areas. The darker tiles have mottling and occasional white veining, helping it to closely mimic a marble chequer such as our Talis Tumbled Marble.
For customers looking to make a statement, the Vitelli can also be made into an on-trend Octagon shaped tile with an insert on a 3-4 week lead time.
Our Ravello porcelains have been a highly sought-after choice for customers since we began supplying them in 2019. Available in Ivory, Grey and Beige, all three colourways have been very popular throughout their tenure on our website. These tiles have artificial wear and tear spread across the surface adding a realistic sense of texture to the tiles; making them hard to distinguish from a limestone tile. They come in a range of sizes, from 600mm x 300mm to 600mm x 900mm, allowing our customers to create a mixed length pattern adding to the illusion of natural stone.
You can see how well the Ravello Beige replicates a natural stone floor in the image below. View the full photoshoot in our blog post An Edwardian Villa in Leicestershire.
