Viva Las Vegas!

Recently I took a trip out to Las Vegas in Nevada USA with a few of my friends. This was the first time that I had visited the United States and after this experience I will be definitely be going back again.

I stayed in a hotel called Vdara which was still a new hotel in Vegas and was located near to the Bellagio Hotel which gave us great access to the main strip of Vegas. Below are some photos of the fountains which performed a different routine to a different sound track each time.

Below are a couple of photos of the strip at night as this is when Vegas really does transform and come to life.

After I had a flutter in the casinos I managed to visit some of the great sites in Vegas. We spent a day up the Stratosphere which is a very large tower with an observation area on the top. The views are amazing as you are able to see all around Vegas. Below is a photo of the strip taken from the top of the Stratosphere and you can see all the hotels and the size of them in comparison to the rest of Vegas.

Again at night the tower lights up and looks completely different to how it looks during the day which is the same for most of the buildings and sites.

I was lucky enough to book onto a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and below you can see some of the breath taking views that were taken from the helicopter. You really can’t appreciate the enormity of it until seeing it in person.

Whilst I was in the air, some of my friends went down to the side of the Canyon and took these photos. They told me that if you were brave enough you could have gone right to the edge and look down into the Canyon.

I also managed to have a round of golf whilst I was out there which, was a surreal experience for me as you are standing in the middle of a desert playing a sport that requires grass to play on. Whilst playing you also see the strip in the distance which adds to the entire experience.
