A PERFECT COMBINATION

Here at Floors of Stone, we are very proud to be the sister company of the very successful, deVOL Kitchens. Their kitchens are simply like no others and the time and effort that goes into each design appointment and the production of each kitchen is just amazing! We share the Cotes Mill address with deVOL Kitchens, with their displays around the upper floors of the Mill and we have our stunning flooring showroom based on the ground floor. You will normally find me sitting on the reception desk greeting customers. We get so many compliments about our showroom which is always lovely to hear. The main compliment that we get is that it is the perfect place to have a kitchen company and a flooring company together, as the two really go hand in hand and make choosing so much easier. I thought now would be the perfect time to share some of our favourite projects with you.
The Leicestershire Kitchen in the Forest
Tucked away in the Leicestershire countryside, this beautiful Pantry Blue shaker kitchen gave this space a whole new lease of life. They have used a selection of shaker units and the open cupboards became such a good spot to store all of their very on-trend copper pots and pans. The customer chose not to use wall units which allows so much light in and, although the kitchen colour is quite dark, the room still feels so light and spacious. Of course, with any lovely kitchen you need an equally lovely floor and they could not have chosen a better option than our Worn Grey Limestone. This Limestone has a very antiqued, worn texture and hand dressed edges which adds so much character to this kitchen. The stones are a very large flagstone size which works so perfectly in a large open space, such as this kitchen and this customer chose to go with our free-length design, where all the tiles are not the same size. Our Worn Grey Limestone is currently on special offer at just £46 per sqm!
The St Albans Kitchen
As well as our large range of natural stone, we also stock Wood Effect Porcelain tiles which have become extremely popular in the last few years. I find that a lot of our customer love the warmth that wood flooring provides but are looking for something practical, as well as stylish and there could not be a better compromise than our Wood Effect Porcelain. We have a range of five different styles but our Aged Oak Porcelain is definitely one of the more popular ones and it works a treat in this kitchen. The customer chose to go for deVOL’s Lead shaker style kitchen and the ash grey undertones of our Aged Oak Porcelain complement the kitchen units perfectly. You can still use underfloor heating with these Porcelain tiles which you cannot do with solid oak so another factor which sways a lot of customers to these tiles. Our Aged Oak Porcelain is just £44 per sqm – a practical and stylish tile for a fraction of the price!
The Woodhouse Kitchen
Based in a Leicestershire barn, The Woodhouse Kitchen is a Shaker style kitchen pained in Linen, where the soft delicate tones of the units give such a light and airy feeling to this space. By going for lighter units it helps a kitchen feel more spacious and brings it to life a little more and we can see it has worked a treat in this kitchen. This customer chose to go with our Country Mix Tumbled Travertine flooring in the opus pattern to add a little more interest to their floor space. This particular Travertine contains a mix of pink, beige, brown and almost grey tones and again helps to provide so much light to the kitchen. Our Country Mix has an unfilled surface which provides a little more of a traditional feel to the floor, in keeping with the barn style. Our Country Mix Tumbled Travertine is only £20 per sqm so you can get a beautiful floor for such a good price!
The Cheshire Townhouse Kitchen
This grand kitchen has such a simple, yet impressive feel and the high ceilings and white walls reflect the light in this room so perfectly. This is another one of deVOL’s shaker style kitchens and this customer chose to go for Lead kitchen units which have so much style and class. As this property was an old, traditional townhouse, you always want to continue that style even when updating the kitchen. The room holds so much character and authenticity already and there could not be a more perfect flooring for this kitchen than our Spanish Terracotta tiles. Our Terracotta tiles are all handmade and they have a rustic and hand dressed finish to give the worn appearance of a very traditional Terracotta floor and range from a light to deep red to show off their natural beauty. These tiles will need a generous coat of our Boiled Linseed Oil and also a coat of our Antiqued Beeswax to give them that aged look. Our Terracotta tiles start from just £35 per sqm and we have the option of either a 200×200 tile or a larger 340×340 size.
The Bath Kitchen
Finally, I thought I would share one of my personal favourites with you which is The Bath Kitchen. The kitchen has used Pantry Blue shaker units which give such a classical feel to this new kitchen and the original windows and high ceilings keep the classic character of this property. I am sure you have seen on our website and on our social media pages that our latest addition to our flooring range is our brand new ‘Planks & Parquet‘ range which has already been extremely successful. This kitchen has our Beaumanor Oak Parquet laid throughout, which I have to say has been one of the most popular products within our new range, due to its beautiful aged appearance. The Beaumanor Oak ranges from deep to light brown with some grey undertones which really shine through, especially in a light kitchen such as this one. All of our Parquet blocks are solid oak and they are a semi-finished piece which means that the only thing you have to do is apply two coats of our Classic Hardwax Oil to protect the parquet in a busy kitchen environment. We do advise a three week lead time on our Parquet so be sure to get your order in well in advance to avoid any disappointment.
