We love working with local developers here at Floors of Stone. You can build a great relationship; learn more about the projects and inspiration behind them and get to see the final results, which we always love.

We have been supplying a company called Langton Homes for the past few years. They are a family owned company based in the Midlands who specialise in building the highest quality, luxury homes. Every project they take on is precisely thought through and impeccably implemented.

One of their recent properties was built in the desirable village of Medbourne, just outside of Market Harborough. The village is full of history (it is believed to have been part of a large settlement in Roman times) with an ancient church and listed buildings. Langton Homes wanted to ensure their build fit in with the surroundings, so went the extra mile to construct the property in local ironstone and completed the house with a thatched roof. When was the last time you saw a new build with a thatched roof?!

Inside the house is just as impressive. They used marble tiles within the bathroom and en suites to create a feeling of pure, unadulterated luxury. The Dijon Tumbled Limestone was laid in the kitchen in large 600×900 tiles, to really pull together the warm wood features with the blue/grey of the units, creating an amazing family kitchen.

The main family bathroom was laid with our Bianco White Polished Marble. A classic white marble with subtle grey veining, the tiles look great against the highly polished, stainless steel, free-standing bath. The large square tiles on the floor are complemented by the oblong tiles taken half way up the wall, a popular way to break up a bathroom. Bright white walls and fittings ensure that this room has lavish finish and, along with the polished surface of the tiles, enhances the light and space.

The en suite to the master bedroom used the Diana Royal Polished Marble. Again, the polished surface of the tiles helps to reflect light around the room and combined with the warmth of the marble, it creates an opulent bathroom. The his and her sinks mounted on that rich, chocolate coloured marble top are also perfect for avoiding those early morning arguments.

A second en suite teamed our Silver Shadow Honed Marble on the walls with a subtle white washed wooden floor. The marble was laid in a 610×305 size to help elongate the room and create a feeling of space. The chrome details and white bathroom suite help to enhance the modern, bright finish.

Downstairs, large format Dijon Tumbled Limestone tiles were used in the generous kitchen diner. The cornflower blue of the units and soft grey tones of the wall are the perfect complement to the Dijon Tumbled Limestone, with the chunky wooden beams bringing out the warmth of the stone. The large, unusual wooden table and long kitchen island draw your eye through the room to that glorious garden room at the end. The panoramic views of the garden are just inviting you to sit in one of those comfy leather armchairs with a coffee and a good book.

All in all, Langton homes have managed to create a property that oozes sophistication and sits perfectly within its surroundings, as well as being practical for a modern family. We can’t wait to see their next project!
