Scandi-chic is a popular trend with its clean, minimalist feel. It works with simple shapes, lines and colours which in turn can enhance the mood of a room.

We love this style, the simplicity, utility and beauty. White walls and cool blue and grey tones give the right ambiance of a Scandinavian home.

Painted floorboards or engineered wood flooring are often used to enhance the Scandinavian feel, paired with simple furniture and uncluttered accessories. However, the use of wood flooring in the kitchen is not always a practical solution. Engineered wood or painted floorboards whilst look great can’t just be mopped with a bucket of water and cleaning fluid as moisture can seep into the boards creating swelling and movement in the floor.

Our Wood porcelain range features our Nordic Oak, a pale oak finish with grey/blue grain and knot detail would work perfectly to achieve a Scandinavian look yet is practical, hygienic and durable.

Similar to that used in the beautiful image above the white washed planks help create a light and airy living space. They also contain the texture you would expect from real wood flooring, the detail can be seen in the image below.

I like how the clean Scandinavian feel in kitchen images above are teamed with vintage accessories and statement rustic furniture. Our sister company deVOL offer a range of furniture just like this should you wish to complete the look.
