Herringbone Pattern Tiles

17th November 2015

We’ve developed a new love…tiles laid in a herringbone pattern!

It’s slowly starting to creep into the tile market, having been popular in the world of parquet floors for a long time. If you follow us on social media, or read interiors magazines, I’m sure you’ll have spotted this pattern cropping up here and there.

Yesterday, Hannah and I decided it was about time we got some pictures of our wood effect porcelain tiles laid in a herringbone pattern. We got a few tiles from each range, and set up in the showroom.

The wood effect porcelain tiles come in (from bottom to top in the above picture) the Reclaimed Oak, Vintage Oak, Nordic Oak, Aged Oak and Rustic Oak. We all have our favourites, but I think mine is the Reclaimed.

Everyone who came into the showroom came over to ask what we were up to. As with most customers, they couldn’t believe how realistic the tiles were. You can see in the above image how the tiles have the undulations and knots akin to what you’d expect to see in solid wood flooring.

We also set up the tiles in a double herringbone pattern. This is basically the same pattern but with two tiles next to each other making up each length.

Due to the size of the tiles, I preferred them laid in a double herringbone – but I think they both look great!

We have also introduced some 100×200 tiles in our Premium Classic Travertine, Light Tumbled Travertine and Botticino Tumbled Marble ranges. These would be ideal if you wanted to create a herringbone pattern splashback, feature wall or floor in a small bathroom.

If you’ve laid any of our tiles in a herringbone pattern, let us know. We’d love to see pictures and we’re always on the lookout for gorgeous rooms to come and photograph!

And of course we couldn’t resist a selfeet! #Ihavethisthingwithfloors
